What we query

Data quality

OpenStreetMap is a free, open-source geographic dataset maintained by contributors worldwide and used across municipal planning, transportation, and infrastructure applications globally.

The calculator pulls from OpenStreetMaps tagged sidewalk, footway, and path data within your defined region. Results reflect the mapped pedestrian network as contributed to OSM at the time of the query.

OpenStreetMap's coverage is strong in urban area with active contributor communities. Rural areas may have gaps. These estimates are designed for planning and scoping baselines ahead of conducting condition and access assessments.
